Quang Binh Province: Over 60% of communes meet environmental criteria

The report of the first 6 months of 2023 of the Quang Binh Province Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that up to now, the number of communes meeting local environmental criteria is 77/128 communes, reaching 60.2%.

Quang Binh Department of Natural Resources and Environment has well implemented the assigned tasks, proactively integrating the contents of the National Target Program on New Rural Development into the sector's professional tasks for effective implementation. 

It is estimated that in the first 6 months of 2023, the rate of collection and treatment of domestic waste in the whole province will reach 81%. Reviewing the results of the implementation of environmental and food safety criteria in localities in the whole province according to the set of criteria 2021-2025. Up to now, the number of communes meeting environmental criteria is 77/128 communes, reaching 60.2%. The Department also supports waste collection trucks, trash cans, propaganda panels, plastic lanes, technical guidance on the implementation of environmental criteria and food safety for 9 communes in Le Thuy, Quang Ninh, Bo Trach, Quang Trach, Tuyen Hoa districts.

According to the report, in the first 6 months of the year, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment also appraised and advised the provincial People's Committee to approve 20 environmental impact assessment dossiers, 16 environmental licenses, 1 certificate of Phong Nha - Ke Bang wildlife conservation establishment. Collect environmental protection fees for wastewater collected with nearly VND 232 million; urge escrow units for environmental rehabilitation and rehabilitation with a total amount of VND 1.3 billion/total deposit due amount of VND 4.7 billion (reaching 27.8%). At the same time, approving the results of the environmental monitoring program of Quang Binh province in 2022, developing and implementing the environmental monitoring program in 2023; continuing to monitor, automatic monitoring.
