Bac Ninh - Focus on collecting of pesticide packages after use

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Ninh province has just issued a document requesting the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to collect pesticide packaging after use.

Users of pesticides must collect the packaging after use to enter the container installed in the field by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) to separate the packaging of pesticides from domestic waste and sanitary waste after use to facilitate collection and segregation. Use pesticide packaging for other uses, and do not purposefully burn or bury pesticide packets after use.

Implement labour safety measures during the collection process; labour protection equipment such as gloves, masks, protective clothing, rubber boots, and other necessary means and supplies for collection; sign a contract and be paid as the contract or agreement with the employer in collecting pesticide packages after use.

To guarantee safety in transportation and treatment, strengthen the management of post-use pesticide packaging transfer operations with units with suitable roles and capabilities by Regulations on Hazardous Waste management. Under the provisions of the law, inspect and oversee the collection of pesticide packaging after use, following each manufacturing season.

The provincial Crop Production Department coordinates with specialised units and localities to strengthen propaganda, technical training, and dissemination of legal documents to users and collectors of pesticide packaging products after use, contributing to protecting the rural environment and ensuring people's health.
