Slag ash of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant as building materials, backfill materials!

In the current period and in the coming time, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant will treat and consume ash and slag according to the plan of transferring ash and slag to units wishing to consume ash and slag through 02 transportation routes.

Specifically: Transfer ash and slag by road such as specialized tank trucks of units that will receive ash and slag at the factory's silo and transport it to the place of treatment and consumption.

Transferring of ash and slag by sea through PACIFIC General Port (for ships transporting slag ash with a tonnage greater than 3000 tons that cannot dock temporarily for Vinh Tan 4 construction): Specialized tank trucks of the units will receive ash and slag at the silo of the Factory and transport it to Pacific General Port. After that, specialized vessels will receive ash, slag at specialized tank trucks and transport it to the place of consumption treatment.

In the near future, contractors can transfer ash and slag by sea through the temporary port serving the construction of Vinh Tan 4 power plants & expanded Vinh Tan 4 after converting the function into a dedicated port to export ash and slag: The Ministry of Transport (Vietnam) has approved the addition of a temporary port for the construction of Vinh Tan 4 power plant in the detailed seaport planning Binh Thuan belongs to the group of seaports No. 4.

The factory has been implementing procedures to use the temporary port during the construction phase as a slag ash export port: supplementing the port planning and technical specifications agreement; investing in buoys to signal maritime flows into ports and submitting them to EVN for approval and constructing buoys to signal maritime flows into ports.

Specific to the geographical location and consumption market, the factory is difficult to consume ash due to its location far from centers with great demand such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and neighboring provinces.

The transportation is not favorable, mainly still by road with quite large transportation costs, so it is difficult to compete with ash and slag sources transported from the Coastal Power Center or Northern Power Plants of Vietnam.

The habit of using construction materials, leveling materials, making roads from ash and thermal power slag has not been well received by local people and the South. Although the factory has cooperated with Vinh Tan Thermal Power Company to organize many propaganda sessions, register to work with the People's Committee of the two provinces of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan, the situation has not improved in a short time.
