Currently, the weather all over the country is experiencing the first hot days of the summer 2023. According to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, in 2023, the heat will come sooner and more intensely than in previous years. Hot weather may appear more than in 2022. There are also likely to be the highest temperature values that exceed the old record ever observed..

In a recent announcement by the United Nations (UN), the possibility of an El Nino weather phenomenon (hot phase) developing in the next few months is increasing, contributing to higher global temperatures and creating new temperature records. According to this organization, the probability of El Nino taking place at the end of July is 60% and at the end of September is 80%. In the face of complicated weather changes, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) recommends agencies, offices, production places and people to pay attention to safe and economical use of electricity.

sử dụng điện tiết kiệm và hiệu quả mùa nắng nóng

According to information from Ho Chi Minh City Load Dispatch Center, On May 5, the city's electricity consumption continued to set a new "record" with over 94.43 million kWh. Up to the present time, the total amount of electricity consumed in the city. Ho Chi Minh has three times set a "record" in 2023. In which, the first time (April 21) was 93.53 million kWh; the second time (April 25) 93.56 million kWh. Besides, in Hanoi, electricity consumption has also begun to increase markedly due to the influence of the weather. If the highest daily electricity consumption is about 72 million kWh in April, the output recorded on May 5 is 78.23 million kWh. Prolonged hot weather will cause electricity consumption in daily life to increase very high, due to the use of many cooling devices such as air conditioners. This also leads to a high risk of local power outages due to overloading at many times. For households, prolonged intense heat also significantly affects the operation status and deterioration of the performance of electrical equipment; risk of overload, breakdown, jumper aptomat, even the risk of fire and explosion on hot days will be higher than usual.

In order to limit the risk of local problems on the power grid as well as in the family, EVN continues to advise people, offices and production places to pay attention to safe and economical use of electricity, especially during peak hours in the afternoon and evening. At the same time, pay attention to reasonable use of air conditioners (set at 26-27 degrees or more, used in combination with fans) and pay attention not to use many electrical appliances with large capacity at the same time. In addition, customers should install a customer care application on their mobile phones so that they can monitor their family's electricity usage, thereby proactively adjusting their electricity usage habits to save electricity.
