Quang Ninh: Pilot using trash and sludge as a raw materials and fuel at cement factories

Quang Ninh province agreed to allow cement enterprises to pilot the replacement of burning materials at factories with industrial waste and sludge waste as alternative fuels.

Currently, in Quang Ninh province, 4 enterprises are investing in cement production with 5 rotary kiln cement production lines operating by the production schedule with a total design capacity of 7.5 million tons of cement/per year.

Two projects, Thang Long Cement Factory 2 and Ha Long Cement Factory 2 are planned to be invested in between 2016 and 2020, with a total capacity of 4.3 million tons/year, but they have not yet been planned to be invested in between 2016 and 2020, with a total capacity of 4.3 million tons/year, but they have not yet been implemented.

Quang Ninh province has implemented various policies to manage the production and trading of construction materials, particularly cement, in the area.

The role involves making planning decisions, controlling construction material and cement selling prices, and evaluating investment projects based on production technology, product quality, basic design, and construction drawings, as well as mining and processing minerals for construction materials and cement.

Mr Dang Huy Hau, vice chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, emphasised the province's commitment to ensuring good conditions and removing difficulties for production and business activities, particularly for cement production enterprises. He also called for businesses to contribute more actively to the province, including charitable social activities and community responsibility, and harmonising rights, interests, benefits, obligations, and responsibilities between parties.

T\In the coming time, businesses need to research how to increase the cement production capacity of factories in the province, minimise clinker sales, and increase cement consumption in Quang Ninh, where agreed to allow businesses to pilot the replacement of fuel materials at factories with industrial waste, accept, report results, and proceed to apply for permission for widespread application. Agree on the plan to use sludge waste as an alternative material.
