In Hoi An, Quang Nam Province has recently implemented the "Plastic Waste Free Hotel" model, eliminating disposable plastic goods from the environment and tourists. The concept intends to contribute to spreading the tourism business community not only in Hoi An but throughout the country to establish a sustainable green tourism brand.
According to Mr. Vu Thi Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, the Vietnam Tourism Association has actively implemented the "Reduce plastic waste in the Vietnam Tourism" project for two years, 2023-2024, to promote plastic waste reduction activities in the tourism sector, contributing to environmental protection and sustainable development of the tourism industry.

Plastic items replaced by environmentally friendly products
Quang Nam Province's tourist sector is expected to continue to be promoted in 2023, launching all accompanying tourism firms to execute the Ministry of Green tourist requirements. More than 20 businesses have registered to run the Ministry of Green Tourism criteria for the "Reduce plastic waste in Vietnam's tourism sector" project from 2023 to 2024. Implementing the Ministry of Green Tourism Criteria and the "Plastic Waste Free Hotel" project helped safeguard the environment and support the growth of the green tourism industry.
