The Central Vietnam Farmers' Union, in collaboration with the Regional Solutions Advocacy for Community and Ecosystems (BRACE Fund), implemented the project "Propagating and mobilizing farmers to treat waste in Vietnam, contributing to the efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of the international community". The project has officially launched in 15 provinces, Cities include: Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Hai Phong, Ha Noi, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Da Nang, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Ben Tre and Tien Giang.
The project is developed and implemented in 4 years (from 2021 - 2024). The objective of the project is to raise awareness among farmers about the treatment of waste in agricultural production, contribute to environmental protection and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Building and scaling up models of converting waste into nutritious feed sources for animal husbandry, agricultural production, increasing productivity, creating jobs and incomes for farmers.
Accordingly, the activities of the project include: promoting farmer groups and groups to participate in the project; provincial kick-off and networking workshops; training farmers on organic waste treatment techniques; visiting and sharing experiences; organizing communication and propaganda events; supporting the development of organic waste treatment models.
In Lam Dong, the project will be implemented at: Ward 8, 9, 12 (Da Lat City); Lien Hiep commune, Hiep Thanh commune, Lien Nghia town (Duc Trong district), Da Kho commune, Trieu Hai commune, Da Teh town (Da Teh district). The total cost of the project is 2.9 billion VND.
