Thua Thien Hue - Vietnam: Consultation meeting, sharing greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory methods

Under the provisions of the Government's Decree No. 06/2022/ND-CP dated January 7, 2022, regulating GHG emission mitigation and protecting the ozone layer, the Sub-department of Environmental Protection coordinated with relevant units to organize consultation meetings and share GHG inventory methods with agencies and businesses in Thua Thien Hue Province.

Consultation meetings and sharing of GHG inventory methods

The sharing session took place at 8:00 a.m. on December 12, 2023, at White Lotus Hotel, No. 05-07 Hoang Hoa Tham, Phu Nhuan Ward, Hue City, and included the following participants:

- Representative of the Provincial Economic and Industrial Zone Management Board;

- Representatives of the People's Committees of Hue area;

- Representatives of units: Hanesbrands Hue Company Limited, Phu Gia Fiber Joint Stock Company, Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company, Carlsberg Vietnam Beer Company Limited, Frit Hue Joint Stock Company, Tuyen Brick No. 1 Thua Thien Hue Joint Stock Company, HEPCO, Laguna Vietnam Company Limited, Dong Lam Cement Joint Stock Company, Luks Cement (Vietnam) Limited Company, MTAC in Thua Thien Hue.

- Representative of the Office of Climate Change;

- Representative of the Land Management Department;

- Representative of the Center for Natural Resources and Environmental Monitoring

Attendees heard presentations on topics such as an Overview of Climate Change, Net Zero and Race to Zero, Methods and software for GHG inventory, how to collect data for provincial-level GHG inventory, and how to process data for GHG inventory from Associate Professor Dr. Tran Anh Tuan, lecturer at Hue University of Sciences.
