Develop the impact of youth in green deal

Speaking at the opening of the talks, Youth Union Secretary, HCM Department of MONRE, Dang Quoc Khanh, said that Vietnam is a dynamically growing economy but is also highly affected by climate change. Vietnam is, therefore, well aware that reaching a Net-zero level by 2050 is an important goal, contributing to global efforts to respond to climate change. This goal is achieved mainly through energy transition and substantially reducing GHG. This is an opportunity to promote the restructuring of the national economy in a sustainable direction, grab the opportunity to improve the scrimping's competitiveness, and take advantage of the opportunities for trade cooperation and investment.

Vietnam is committed to significant GHG reductions, utilizing its resources and international support, particularly from developing countries. At COP26, Vietnam pledged to achieve "Net-Zero" emissions by 2050, joining global commitments like the Global Commitment to Reduce CH4 and the Global Declaration on clean energy transition.

The international society appreciates Vietnam's new and potent duties, soon opening up many chances for cooperation. Development partners and international financial institutions have expressed their desire and loyalty to unite with the Vietnamese Government and to implement their responsibilities.

According to the Secretary of the Youth Unit of MONRE, Dang Quoc Khanh, the routine of the Green Deal, a sustainable future with the role of the team partners in young individuals is critical. The Circular Economy: Opportunities for Youth.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho, Chief of the Strategy Institute at MONRE Policy, highlighted the potential of the circular economy for Vietnam's rapid and sustainable growth and emphasized that this transition is crucial for meeting economic, social, and environmental goals and addressing climate change. He also highlighted the importance of achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals by ensuring sustainable production and consumption, reducing resource scarcity, raising public awareness about reuse and recycling, and expanding manufacturer responsibility to support 100% recycled waste in raw materials.

By Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho, enforcing cyclical economic development needs to have a road map and priorities in development based on market needs and the demands of society. For Vietnam, focusing on the radical solution of plastic waste and nylon bags in the foreseeable future will help minimize environmental emissions based on circular economic development.

Besides the problem of sorting the waste at the source and after segregating, it must be collected, cleaned, transported for reuse, and recycled. Segregation of waste at source must become a compulsory requirement, a criterion of cultural evaluation for people.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho said that to effectively implement the roadmap for implementation of cyclical economic development in Vietnam, the promotion of the role and responsibility of the Federation in the propaganda work, raising awareness of the Party's proposals, policies, laws of the State on environmental protection and response to climate change to the youth delegation is of supreme value.

Waste segregation at the source early into a green life, sustainable.

Talking about the problem of solid domestic waste, Ms. Duong Thi Thanh Xuyen, representative of the Environmental Pollution Control Agency, emphasized that the sorting and collection of trash at the source not only brings economic benefits to the people but also contributes to the recycling industry, improving the efficiency, towards the circular economy. However, there are many obstacles to segregating and collecting waste at the source because of unsynchronized and unreplicated models.

Ms. Duong Thi Thanh Xuyen sump up, great segregating waste at the source quickly becomes a green life, sustainable that requires decisive, synchronous implementation, in which a change of mindset and perception is a prerequisite. Accordingly, each member youth of MONRE must lead in limiting single-use plastic products, reusing plastic products, and sorting garbage at the source. At the same time, delegations will have to focus on deploying propaganda, advocacy, guidance, and support teams to help people implement plastic waste control in their daily lives, helping people build restrictive habits and gradually leading to non-use of disposable plastic products.

During this time, the organizations need to create a zone and foster the creative spirit of young people to research plastic alternatives, environmentally friendly products, and recycled products from plastic waste to limit plastic waste use and reduce plastic discharge into the environment. Especially with youth, creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication to the country, members, youth will always be the impact force of preserving and protecting the environment and the nucleus calling the community together to serve against plastic waste.

Youth contributes to emissions reduction and an adequate energy transition.

Climate Change Youth Secretary Tran Do Bao Trung proposed that young people should be leaders in the energy transformation process, reducing GHG to strengthen young people's contributions to energy transition towards economic and social development goals. Among them, the participation of the youth of MONRE is seen as a key factor for successfully implementing a net emissions duty of "zero" by 2050.

The youth of MONRE actively propose new ideas and breakthrough initiatives to contribute to environmental protection. Strengthening the involvement of younger generations in decision-making is crucial because the policies and the legislative texts that will be enacted significantly impact young people's lives.
