Find solutions to use pesticides to ensure food safety properly

On the afternoon of December 8, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Economic and Urban Newspaper, in collaboration with the Vietnam Eco-Friendly Products Manufacturers Association (EPMA), organised a seminar, "Food safety in agricultural production". Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Loi, Editorial Chief of the Economic and Urban Newspaper, said: The seminar aims to strengthen propaganda and widespread dissemination so that farmers understand and use medicines correctly. To improve food safety in agricultural production, the press should collaborate with regulatory agencies, experts, and businesses to provide a perspective on challenges and solutions for sustainable development while meeting international standards.

At the seminar, experts and business representatives agreed that it is necessary to strengthen propaganda and knowledge dissemination from state management agencies, businesses producing pesticides and veterinary drugs, and growth stimulants, as well as solutions to scientifically protect agricultural products and comply with agricultural sector regulations and the production of domestic and exported consumer goods...

Simultaneously, key state management authorities, the Plant Protection Department, the Food Safety Board of Ho Chi Minh City, businesses producing and marketing plant protection medications, veterinary pharmaceuticals, supermarket marketplaces, wholesale marketplaces... must devise realistic solutions, as well as develop and vary propaganda tactics, to assist farmers in complying with agriculture sector standards, food safety... Solutions This will make it easier to distribute consumer goods and agricultural products to clients while also increasing the value of exported things.

Mr. Le Van Thiet, Deputy Director of the Plant Protection Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), stated that in the future, agricultural production activities must develop in a linked chain towards green agriculture and circular agriculture... and must use harmony between inorganic and organic fertilisers, chemical and biological pesticides, must increase production and use bio-pesticides.

State management authorities shall examine, augment, and enhance procedures for encouraging and supporting firms and people to invest in biological pesticide manufacturing, business development, and application. Prioritise providing finances and budget for research activities, knowledge transfer, drug usage training, communication, and developing and reproducing models for successful use of biological plant protection medications...

As reported by agricultural experts, the amount of organic fertiliser generated in Vietnam needs to be increased in comparison to production techniques. Our country's farming industry is anticipated to utilise about 12 million tons of chemical fertilisers per year, whereas 36 million tons of organic fertilisers are required. To fulfil the need for organic fertilisers for organic agricultural production in Vietnam, it is vital to have production progress plans in place as well as an appropriate supply of all types and outputs.
