The Department of Crop Production, Plant Protection, and Management has launched a campaign to collect post-use pesticide packaging. The province's agricultural product quality will be coordinated with districts, municipalities, and cities in November 2021.

The Director of Plant Protection and Agriculture Quality Management in Long An Province, Nguyen Van Cuong, has organized a pesticide packaging movement in 15 districts, towns, and cities for agricultural development and hi-tech applications on rice, vegetables, peaches, and lemons. The branch aims to unify the selection of 02 communes for collecting pesticide packaging after use and select 02 points for storage of chemical-containing packaging waiting for shipment to the destruction site.

Mr. Vo Anh Tuan, the District of Can Duoc's Deputy Chief of Agriculture and Rural Development, would choose Phuoc Van, Long Khe, to commence the effort to collect after-use pesticide packaging, with more than 80 farmers participating. Prior to the launch, the District Agriculture Branch held post-use pesticide packaging training in collaboration with the Division of Crop Cultivation, Plant Protection, and the Provincial Agricultural Products Quality Management. The district agricultural sector got 2,000 containers and weatherproof PE cages for pesticide packing to be delivered to farmers during the launch ceremony."

The province's Division of Cultivation, Plant Protection, and Agricultural Quality Management handled the transportation of the product packaging once the farmers brought the pesticide packing to the collecting location. Furthermore, during the collection of pesticide packaging, the Division will arrange a team of inspectors to monitor Pesticide Packaging collection in the localities in order to give timely guidance and remove challenges and barriers.

Mr. Do Van Thai, from Long Khe, Can Duoc district, emphasizes the importance of pesticide package collection for health and environmental protection. He attended local training on post-use chemical packaging management and was given a bag to carry the pesticide packaging upon delivery to the assembly.

The organization has garnered significant support for its efforts in destroying bottle-shell pesticide packaging, resulting in increased awareness and collaboration to protect the environment, particularly in communities meeting Environmental Criterion No. 17 in the National Target Programme on New Rural Building.

The Division of Cultivation, Plant Protection, and Provincial Quality Management of Agricultural Products was established to promote an eco-friendly direction in agriculture. This involves limiting the use of fertilizers, chemicals, and organic fertilizers and promoting scientific and technical applications to reduce chemical packaging and environmental impact.

Tran Thi Kham Ly, Deputy Chief of Agriculture and Rural Development in Tan Thanh District, announced that the Department of Crop Cultivation, Plant Protection, and Agricultural Quality Management in the province has delivered the RYNAN Group's intelligent monitoring system to the district. The system uses intelligent insect traps to attract, identify, and record insect types and monitors the application of cloud computing technology, particularly AI (Artificial Intelligence), in identity and quantitative statistics analysis.

Accordingly, farmers need to install a monitoring system and software to know what kinds of pests are and how densely they are. At the same time, with many traps, bright lights will attract and eradicate worm scraps, contribute to helping farmers reduce the number of spraying times, towards clean, safe production."
