Host a Green Consumption Initiative Competition to Reduce Plastic Pollution

The Ministry of Resources and Environment (MONRE) Youth Unit launched the "Green Consumption Initiative, Plastic Pollution Reduction" competition in partnership with the International Organization for the Conservation of Nature in Vietnam (WWF Vietnam).

The competition "Green Consumption Initiative, Plastic Pollution Reduction" seeks to identify, honor, and replicate typical green consumer initiatives that can be widely and effectively implemented, encourage and promote good ideas, good models of green consumption, intelligent consumerism of all segments of the population, particularly young people, to contribute to the preservation and promotion of the values of Vietnam's natural resources and the sustainability of the country.

Furthermore, the competition has helped to increase community knowledge and responsibility for sustainable green consumerism and environmental conservation in the context of worldwide economic integration. Simultaneously, advocates encourage all individuals and organizations to participate in general environmental protection and green consumption by diversifying and contributing to innovation, improving the quality, efficiency, and reduction of plastic waste through creative consumer activities.

Innovative ideas and good models of wise green consumption, in particular, play an essential role in reducing single-use plastic products, promoting reuse, recycling, and exploring environmentally friendly solutions; creating valuable achievements and inspiring individuals, organizations, and communities to participate; and contributing to the country's long-term viability, clean environment, and economic development opportunities.

Individuals and groups of Vietnamese people who presently live, work, and study in Vietnam are eligible to compete. The participation initiative is given in Vietnamese, encouraging the industry to compete by providing appropriate information and documentation (photos, video clips, etc.) to assist in understanding the initiatives. The efforts might focus on green consumer themes, diverse plastic pollution reduction, and areas other than environmental resource conservation.

The Organizer receives the contests until 10 October 2023 (by post). Participant authors submitted matches to the Resource and Environmental Communications Centre, MONRE, E2 Plates, Cau Giay New urban area, Duong Dinh Nghe Street,  Yen Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi City.

The organizers are expected to 06 awards, including:
•    The first division: 1 reward
•    Rank 2: 2 rewards
•    Rank 3: 3 rewards
